Master Key Week 8 – Imagination Skyrockets Results in 7 Powerful Ways

Imagination this week was wild and more like “hard fun” than hard work but you’ve gotta love the process:

There are no shortcuts to building a life of substance  … it’s an ongoing process

- Les Hewitt -

Whew!  Where to start this one.  So many thoughts – so few weeks.  oops – was that a destructive thought?  I only have 7 seconds to change it to a constructive positive one. tick, tick…

What I meant to say was: I am grateful for the time I have chosen to journal my thoughts for you.
How’s that? Better? Working on 7 Days to a New YOU and it’s challenging!

My understanding of Week 7 was ignited to a new level with lesson 8 from Haanel.

In last week’s post I reflected on the power of visualization in our lives. And the more I think about it the more I realize the challenge is to focus unleashing our imagination to run wild and place no limits on what we want to experience as our future self. After all, it’s MY life isn’t it?

That in itself is a huge challenge because our conditioning for years (decades in my case) has been to strive for “realistic” goals.  Can you remember a time when you were excited about an new idea that was a little off the wall or a goal that was huge and you loved it?

You were so excited about it – you just had to share it, right?

Sad LadDo you remember how deflated you felt when your friends or parents told you to “get real”?  Crushed!  Took a while to bounce back too.

Because our egos seek approval – our dreams vanished in a cloud of reality like a whoosh from a deflating balloon. Been there? The result is we were conditioned to dreaming small.

Back to building a relationship with my future self… the guy in the mirror.

Screw Acceptance! Embrace Challenges! Dream BIG!

Imagine Your Life Without Challenges – BORING!

Wait a minute… do you even use your imagination to plan your life?

“Every well-built house started with a definite plan in the form of blueprints.” – Napoleon Hill

I DO use my imagination and I am creating a new blueprint for my life.

And how do I plan on building it?

By firing up my imagination and developing a plan of action (POA). Because I’ve learned creative imagination ignites enthusiasm and emotional fuel added to these thoughts inspires the action to propel us towards our intended goals.

OK then.. punting daydreams!  Embracing Imagination now!

Haanel’s Insight to the Power of Imagination

  1. The cultivation of the imagination leads to the development of the ideal out of which your future will emerge.
  2. The imagination gathers up the material by which the Mind weaves the fabric in which your future will be clothed.
  3. Imagination is the light by which we can penetrate new worlds of thought and experience.
  4. Imagination is the might instrument by which every discoverer, every inventor, opened the way from precedent to experience.  Precedent said, “ It cannot be done;” experience said, “It is done.”
  5. Imagination is the plastic power, moulding the things of sense into new forms and ideals.
  6. Imagination is the constructive  form of thought which must precede every constructive form of action.
  7. The builder cannot build a structure of any kind until he has first received the plans for the architect, and the architect must get them from his imagination.

Any doubt about the power of Imagination?  Not me!

The Matrix: Reality or Imagination?

Morpheus to Neo:
“You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”

If you’re a fan of The Matrix … you know the good news/bad news here. And no, it is not written by Charles Haanel.  I just like the picture it paints for us. So without getting anal about analyzing the movie and keeping it fun…

The Good News

I took the red pill and I am creating a world I want to experience.  I get to be the architect and builder.
I get to be the script writer, the star and the director in the movie of my life.

And so do you!  If you choose to embrace life and use your imagination.

Haanel in 8:7 cautions,

“ Do not confuse Imagination with Fancy, or that form of daydreaming in which some people like to indulge.  Daydreaming is a form of mental dissipation which may lead to mental disaster”.

You knew this was coming, didn’t you?

The Bad News

If you took the blue pill – you’re stuck following the thundering herd. And living a life of quiet desperation filled with mediocrity and melodrama beyond your control.

You get to be extra in someone else’s movie. Not the star or director. And you don’t even get input in the script.  That sucks eh?  But all is not lost…

If you think it was a mistake to take the path of least resistance – because you didn’t stop to think about how it would impact your future… it’s not too late to change!

More Good News!

“All mistakes are but the mistakes of ignorance. Knowledge gaining and consequent power is what determines growth and evolution.”  Haanel 8:22

In all our lives we have one common purpose – personal growth thru self discovery, unfolding by raising our level of awareness to the immutable laws that govern the universe.

In my years of searching for more meaning – this course is without a doubt the best way I have found to expand my life in a safe community of like-minded people who truly care about my personal success (and yours too).

Earl Nightingale’s definition of success has always resonated with me:

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”  – Earl Nightingale

PS: The red pill and its opposite, the blue pill, are popular culture symbols representing the choice between embracing the sometimes painful truth of reality (red pill) and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill). Redpills are people who have chosen to face reality, while Bluepills remain living in ignorance of the truth, whether by choice or because they believe they don’t have a choice.
